Last week I painted plein air on Atlantic Avenue in downtown Delray Beach, FL as part of 2009 Plein Air, a juried competition sponsored by Arts Arena Gallery, and I received an award for this painting "Colony Hotel Shops." I wanted to capture the color and energy of the historic building, and then the three palms caught my eye. Felt so good to be outside painting after surviving a Florida summer. It's oil on canvas, 14"x11," framed, and priced at $500.
Congratulations, Frances... I love the painting . The brilliant yellows and reds are just the cheer I needed to brighten up the drab winter days up north! Keep up the good work...
